TWIN HOOK SYSTEM

Difference between fixed conventional hooks
and
independent twin hook system

This unprecedented mobility and tracking of the hook system is one of the main features of the twin hook system.
The distance between the three needle tips of a commonly sold triple hook is 120 degrees. (circumference 360 degrees / 3 = 120)
And the angle between the hooks of Studio Composite's twin hook system is set at 100 degrees.
If the distance between the two hooks is too narrow,
it is easy for both hooks to be cured in the mouth at the same time.
If the distance between the two hooks is too wide,
it is difficult for both hooks to catch the target's mouth at the same time.
This 100 degree angle between the two hook tips is the position that allows the most target mouths to be caught during testing and also the position that allows the hook tips to be placed in the most appropriate position relative to the width of the lure's body.
We have also learned from many targets that this 100 degree angle is also the position where the other needle tip is more likely to hook when the target reverses.
This means that when the target catches one hook and flips at the same time,
the other unfixed hook will catch and hold the target's mouth at various angles as it touches it.
The range of motion of the twin hook is 0-360 degrees.
In other words,
the two hooks of a twin hook are formed by two single hooks that capture the target's mouth and move to prevent hook breakage and at the same time are the most difficult hooks to dislodge,
as you can see in the following pictures.

This was because the target flipped in the same direction as the first hook after being hooked.

Cases where the hook flipped in the opposite direction to the hook once hooked and the other needle tip caught the target's mouth

Furthermore, there were cases where a needle tip that was already stuck and penetrating was once again stuck from above due to the target reversing again.

Adoption of special silicon tube
for
further tracking

The twin hook system we are proposing uses a special thin-walled rigid silicone tube.
There are three reasons for using the special rigid silicone tubing.
The first reason is that it has stronger breaking strength than heat-expandable tubing.
The second reason is to use the flex of the silicone to prevent deformation of the hook.
The third reason is to use the restoring power of the rigid silicone tubing.
When the target is inverted and the hook tip is hanging wide open,
the rigid silicone tube uses its restoring force to prevent the hook tip from falling out of the target's mouth.
When the hook reaches its linear limit, the silicone tube breaks,
and the two hooks become independent,
further increasing their range of motion and allowing them to follow the target's mouth without falling out of the target's wide-open mouth.
This is the mobility and tracking of the twin hook system.
The importance of having the hook tip at an effective angle and position, not the number of hook tips.
The advantage of having a hook that moves, as opposed to a conventional hook that is fixed and does not move,
is that the hook's linearity can be made as thin as possible.
This allows the hook to keep small bites at bay and at the same time increases the penetration force.
And, designed for catch-and-release, ,
the hook causes less damage and the survival rate after release is much higher than with conventional hooks.
We sincerely hope that in 10 or 20 years from now, there will be a target that will give us a lot of excitement,
and that there will be a field where future children will be able to get the same excitement.

*Caution
The twin-hook system is equipped with a micro barb,
but the twin-hook system is designed to have two hooks that move and follow the movement of the fish's mouth,
so that the hooks are not in contact with the fish's mouth.
That fact makes it more than a barb.
If you understand this hook system and gain confidence in it,
we urge you to crush the micro barb with a pair of pliers and use it.
